VCU – servant leader, teacher, colleague

As a professor, I trained more than 2,000 students in advertising and media art, and served as the chief operating officer (aka Associate Director) of the VCU School of Mass Communications.

I helped direct the school during several key transitions – including significant curriculum changes, a change of director, extensive growth of programs, student enrollment and faculty positions, and the renaming of the school.

As leader of the VCU Advertising sequence, the program grew significantly in size and reputation. It became one of the top 25 creative advertising programs in the world (as measured by number of awards won) alongside graduate, professional, and international competitors.

Website and social sites created during my academic career:

Student work that I directed has appeared in the One Show exhibition, the Richmond Show, ADDYs, and other awards venues. Many pieces were commissioned directly for clients or publication.
